Taking its cues from founding partners Michael Layne and the late Fred Marx, the history of Marx Layne & Company is a 30-year love affair with the greater Detroit region, its people, its businesses and commerce, and the many outstanding organizations devoted to a more secure — and joyous — life for all of us.

During this time, we are very proud to have had the privilege and honor to work alongside many wonderful clients. These are true business partners that are dedicated to offering outstanding goods and services, a diverse workplace, relationships based on mutual respect and integrity, and giving back to the community.

We are especially proud of our work with many of the region’s outstanding nonprofit organizations that are diligently working to improve the quality of life in our community. Their work includes combatting hunger and homelessness, preventing spousal and child abuse, battling addictions and aiding those with mental illnesses, among others.

Through the years, Marx Layne also has enjoyed serving as trusted and reliable professionals for our area’s outstanding media outlets and journalists. While we are working in support of our clients’ initiatives, we have always respected and understood the media’s responsibility to provide high quality, accurate content to their publics.

We also are proud of the jobs we have created and the professional growth and livelihoods provided to the many individuals who have worked or interned at Marx Layne over these past three decades.

What makes our business so exciting for our dedicated professionals is that it is always changing. Striving to be creative and produce measurable results for our clients in the most cost-effective ways has always kept us invigorated. Going forward, our incredible team of senior professionals collectively share the vision, dedication and mentoring skills to sustain Marx Layne for the next 30 years and beyond.

In recognition of our 30th anniversary, our agency and staff are honoring Marx Layne’s longstanding tradition of supporting our local community by completing 30 Acts of Kindness through the end of the year. This includes donating professional time, making financial gifts and pledging volunteer support to many worthwhile charities and causes. Giving back at Marx Layne & Company

Heart 2 Hart Detroit A large space at our agency, which formally housed our library and document center, is now used for food preparation by Heart 2 Hart Detroit — the only area nonprofit that goes out and delivers food and supplies to homeless people where they are. Heart 2 Hart Detroit knows where people are living under viaducts, knows people by name, and we’re proud to provide support by going out on numerous trips to deliver much needed food and supplies. In addition to donating space, we’ve made financial contributions in support of this wonderful organization.
