Located at 1975 E. Maple Road in Troy, AMPed Learning Center goes beyond a traditional daycare facility, offering families enriching playtime for their young ones along with custom space for on-the-job parents to get work done.

The center also is a perfect spot for parents who just want to relax while their kids have exciting experiences outside of the house.

“AMPed Learning Center is truly a place for families. I want it to be what I couldn’t find when I was a busy single mom,” Palazzolo said. “I didn’t need full-time daycare, but somewhere I could work comfortably while my kids got the most out of playtime.

Lounge for working parents

Palazzolo also discussed the benefits of the parent’s lounge area at AMPed Learning Center.

“The parent’s lounge is designed for working parents or parents who want a regular break but don’t want to just sit their kids in front of a screen,” said Palazzolo, whose initials give AMPed its name. “Parents can feel confident that their children are actively engaged and learning, while they relax or get some work done.”

Created with an educational focus, open play is available at various times throughout the week at AMPed Learning Center. Under their parents’ supervision, children experience a 4,000-square-foot environment thoughtfully designed to stimulate their sense of curiosity and exploration.

The open play area includes a STEM room, a miniature house room, open creative play spaces, a dress-up area, a dedicated infant room and a sensory room, as well as a small playset for kids ages 2-5 years old.

There is a cafe area where parents can see most of the play area as well as view more “hidden” areas on a TV that displays the security cameras. (The infant room requires a parent to be in the room with their children).

Subscriptions for unlimited open play are available so parents can drop in whenever open play is offered.

Open play is ideal for infants through early elementary age children, and a dedicated room is provided for younger children (infants through 2 years old).

Expansion is coming to AMPed Learning Center this summer, with the addition of a 2,000-square-foot outdoor play space, which will feature a variety of educational areas such as a mud kitchen, water tables and more.

Multiple program options

Classes offered at AMPed Learning Center include: Explorers, which provides educational programming for preschoolers ages 2-5 years old while parents relax or work in the parents lounge; Zumbini, an early childhood education program that uses original music and
movement to promote cognitive, social, fine/gross motor skill, and emotional development for children ages 4 and under; and Tinkergarten, a nature-based program designed to help children develop a strong foundation in eight essential skills that kids need to become creative, caring and confident people who can thrive in a dynamic world

Also, office space at AMPed Learning Center is available for rent by professionals in child-related industries. And the entire space is available for private gatherings, with a dedicated party/activities room.
