Cantoro Italian Market & Trattoria
After being open for approximately one year, Cantoro Italian Market & Trattoria wanted to create awareness and drive revenue at its 55,000 square foot Italian supermarket with attached trattoria.
The second-generation Italian supermarket and restaurant with an expansive assortment of high-quality food and wines received little-to-no awareness beyond its immediate loyal base in the city where it is located. Marx Layne & Company knew this location could and should be the premiere Italian food source for the entire region – as well as a travel destination from visitors out of state.
Marx Layne was confident in Cantoro’s product offering, not just locally, but for diners and patrons throughout Michigan. However, the retailer lacked a functional website, received no media coverage and had ineffective social media and email distribution capabilities. We were hired to strategize, lead and execute Cantoro’s media plan, website design, entire social media platform and email distribution marketing.
Marx Layne began by creating a graphically pleasing and informative website featuring Cantoro’s spectacular food & dining options. We developed interactive, engaging digital platforms that enabled Cantoro to capture visitor contact information while building their social media audience to over tens of thousands. Cantoro’s bakery department has since become the only in Michigan to serve as a partner for Facebook. Our campaign for a weekly bakery giveaway consistently attracts thousands of engagements and shares in each post.
Due to our strong relationships with print, broadcast and online media, Cantoro is consistently positioned weekly in TV, print and digital media before shoppers and diners and drew attention from the Food Network. We have also positioned its sommelier as the leading wine expert in the state, featured regularly in prominent news outlets.
Email blasts have been a highly effective tool for any business, especially retailers, restaurants and markets. Marx Layne & Company manages the creation and distribution of original newsletters, event updates and special price information through e-blasts. Today, Cantoro regularly sells out their monthly wine dinners while remaining in contact with thousands of patrons. The trattoria is consistently completely booked often weeks in advance and private dining continues to grow year by year.
According to the latest data, Marx Layne & Company has been instrumental in increasing revenue by 20% year-over-year.
